The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, located in the city of Epidaurus near Lygourio in Argolis, Peloponnese, is a renowned historical site.
Built-in the 4th century BC by Polykleitos on the slope of Mount Cynortion near the sanctuary of Asclepius, the god of healing, this theater is celebrated for its remarkable preservation and exceptional acoustics. Pausanias, during his visit, was astounded by its elegance and balance. With a seating capacity of 15,000, it features a classical design with an orchestra, circular stage, and 34 rows of seats.
In ancient times, people from across Greece visited the Asclepius sanctuary seeking remedies for both physical and mental ailments, with drama, comedy, and music being integral parts of the therapeutic process, as noted by Pausanias.

Epidaurous Taxi
